Our Services
Coxleigh Barton is a BHS Approved Livery Yard and Facilities Centre set within 400 acres of farmland just outside Barnstaple. Offering regular competitions, excellent livery and facilities for horse riders in the North Devon area, Coxleigh is the perfect venue at which to keep your horse, or visit with your horse to use our facilities and take part in our events, camps and clinics.
Facilities
Our facilities include stabling and paddocks for over 25 horses, a 50 x 70 competition arena, a floodlit 20 x 60 arena with show jumps, a horse walker and over 400 acres of off road riding on private land. These facilities are freely available to our liveries inclusive of the livery price, but are all also available for hire to individuals, groups and clubs. Sara Gallagher, our in house instructor is a BHS and British showjumping accredited coach and offers both individual and group instruction to the highest standard. All of our facilities are available for independent hire or with an instructor of your choice. Alternatively, simply hire the venue and organise your own event.
Riding Clubs and private groups are welcome to come and stay in our dormitory style self catering accommodation. Ideal for schooling, camps and clinics. Livery
Coxleigh Barton Equestrian Centre is a BHS Approved Livery Yard and Facilities Centre, with a ‘Highly Commended’ BHS rating.
We offer excellent DIY, part & full livery with superb facilities for both horse and rider in the North Devon area. With four separate yards at Coxleigh Barton (maximum of 9 horses on a yard) and an onsite Yard Manager, we are able to ensure that each yard is well managed in a professional but friendly environment.
All liveries at Coxleigh Barton have all year use of their own paddock with 24 hour turn out, 7 days a week. Each paddock is electrically fenced with a supply of water. You are free to manage your horses’ grazing and routine in a way that best suits you and your horse. We also offer ph testing, weed management, harrowing and rolling when required.

Memberships
Enjoy unlimited access to our beautiful woodland tracks, plus one hour arena hire each week in our 60 x 20 arena. You’ll also receive an additional hour of half-price arena hire in our larger 50 x 70 arena.
Our Junior Membership is designed for children under 16, this is available for just £199 per year. For more details and to download an application form, click here.

Our Woodland Tracks Membership is available for just £99 per year. This gives you unlimited access to 15 kilometers of woodland and tracks. For more details and to download an application form, click here.
Camps and Clinics
At Coxleigh Barton we are able to offer fantastic residential camps for both children and adults staying in our cabin conversions with ensuite bathrooms. These camps are a great way to learn and gain confidence and experience whilst having fun!

As well as organising and running our own camps, Coxleigh is also a popular venue for those wishing to organise their own camps and clinics. Gallagher Equestrian
Sara has over 40 years of experience in the equestrian industry and is a British Horse Society Accredited Professional Coach. She has the following qualifications:
BHS Level 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship
UKCC Level 3
BS Coach
NVQ2 Horse Care and Equitation
National Diploma Equine and Business Studies.
Sara is also fully insured, trained in safeguarding, fully compliant with CPD, first-aid trained and holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
Based at Coxleigh Barton, Sara offers freelance training and coaching in all disciplines of riding and stable management for all ages and abilities.

North Devon Show Jumping League
The Schools Show Jumping League is a friendly, local showjumping competition designed to encourage all pupils with ponies, or access to ponies, to take part in the event and represent their respective schools.
The league can be entered by teams of 3 or 4 riders, or by individual pupils. There are 7 different height categories from 30/40cm to 1m to ensure we cater for all abilities.
Over the season, league points can be accumulated, culminating in a Championship Show Jumping Competition in July, just before the start of the new academic year. The 2026 qualifiers for this unique event will start again in March 2026 - keep an eye out for dates and registration details coming soon!
